Course:

We hold a graduate course in pedagogy for students interested in becoming professors in the future through the Design Center in the winter term. In the course, students discussed several pedagogical approaches to design education – their differing goals, objectives, methods of communication and delivery – comparing and critiquing their effectiveness in developing, transferring and nurturing those elements crucial to architectural knowledge. In addition, this class has a clinical component as well; students will have the opportunity to develop their own pedagogical position, methods of instruction and create specific curriculum for teaching design studio as part of Studio:DetroitHS, the TCAUP High School Architecture Exploration program held at the Detroit Community Design Center.
